* Always aim for three stars. Each time you play a level, you can get one to three stars. One star simply means you've completed that particular level, while two or three stars mean you've reached a certain number of bonus missions and put more effort into completing your mission. You can actually use these stars to summon your in-game allies, which is extremely useful when you find yourself in a sticky situation. Make sure you get as many stars as possible to help you out when you really need help.
* Complete the quests. You don't always have to follow the quests, but doing just that helps a lot.
